My (Worldcon 2012) Schedule – Chicon 7

For those of you who have written and asked, yes, as of today I have my Chicon 7 (Worldcon 2012) schedule. Bear with me; it’s not the shortest on record. 🙂

Thursday, August 30:
► 1:30-3:00 PM — “The Science Fiction Scene in Europe”
(Room: Columbus IJ-KL)
(with Luigi Petruzzelli, Barbara G. Tam, Alviro Zinos-Amaro, and Debora Montenari)
► 3:00-4:00 PM — Opening Ceremonies
(Room: Grand Ballroom)
► 4:30-6:00 PM — Reading
(Room: Gold Coast)
(I’ll be reading 2 new stories that haven’t yet appeared in print, plus an award-winner
from the mid-1970s that no one remembers.)

Friday, August 31:
► 1:30-3:00 PM — Win Some, Lose Some autograph session
(Room: Comiskey)
(Most of the 30 writers and editors who introduced the 30 stories in Win Some, Lose Some, my Guest of Honor book, will join me in autographing it.)
► 3:00-3:45 PM — Off World Design autograph session
(Dealer’s Room)
(Cover artist Doug Klauba and I will be signing t-shirts bearing the cover painting to my Stalking the Zombie
► 3:45-4:30 PM — I’ll be signing books at Larry Smith’s table
(Dealer’s Room)

(I’ll be interviewed by Canadian editor and writer B.J. Galler-Smith)
► 9:00-10:30 PM — My Guest of Honor speech
(Room: Columbus KL)

Saturday, September 1:
► 10:30-11:20 AM — (I’ll be autographing at the American Fantasy Press table in the Dealer’s Room)

► 3:00-4:30 PM — The (Hilarious) Secret History of Science Fiction
(Room: Crystal B)
(wth Joe Haldeman, Robert Silverberg, Gardner Dozois, George R.R. Martin)
► 4:30-6:00 PM — Baby Photos slide show
(Room: Comiskey)
(From my collection: more than 100 photos of young, hopeful writers, juxtaposed to the withered, decrepit award winners we’ve become)
► 8:00 PM — The Masquerade.
(I’m not a participant, but I’ve been asked to attend. I gather they’re doing a brief tribute to all the winning costumes that Carol created and we wore in the 1970s.)

Sunday, September 2:
► 1:30-3:00 PM — “Fanzines are Not Just for Fans”
(Room: Columbus IJ-KL)
(with Robert Silverberg, Andy Porter, Dick Smith)
► 3:00-4:30 PM — Autograph session
(Room: Riverside Center Exhibition Hall)
► 4:30-5:30 PM — Autographing at the Arc Manor/Stellar Guild Table
(Dealer’s Room)
► 8:00 PM — Hugo ceremony.
(I’m a nominee, so of course I’ll be there.)

► 10:30 AM-1:30 PM — Resnick Movies
(Room: Grand Suite 5)
(I’ll be showing 5 short films that were adapted from my stories)
► 1:30-3:00 PM — Collaborating with the Guest of Honor
(Room: Crystal B)
(with Eric Flint, Lezli Robyn, Nick DiChario, Harry Kloor, Jack McDevitt, Brad Torgersen)
► 3:00-4:00 PM — Closing Ceremonies
(Room: IJ-KL)

I obviously can’t make myself available during the days — I’ve barely got enough time to get from one presentation/panel to the next — but I’ll be hitting a dozen or more parties every night, and I hope to be able to visit with all my friends and fans at them.
